Decorated tissue holder

Well, try as hard as I might the amount of time I spend on crafting is very much related to my energy levels and motivation. I never know from one day to the next if I am going to be turbo charged or super exhausted.
This week I have been trying to get some projects completed. I get project ideas and then take no action for years but will not cave in to declutter my stash so the projects mount up.
The first project is decorating a tissue box.  I had one attempt months ago when my treasured creative friend Julie and I started decorating our plain boxes.  As is usual Julie completed hers fantastically, leaving my horrible gold and green monstrosity leaving me feeling as if I was rubbish.
The giid news is I have now transformed th3 ugly duckling into a beautiful swan just by changing the colour.
I started by covering the box with Claudia Hellmuths Studio Gessom followed by Craig and Rose 1829 Chalky Emulsion in Swedish Blue.
The raised pattern was used on the original project by masking using Viva Terra and this createc the raised pattern effect.

Inspiration from magazines

Last night I went through 4 very old card making magazines just before I tiffed them out.  I cut out quite a few pictures of cards that triggered thoughts or ideas. Tonight I stuck the pictures in my inspirations book and started crafting away. Before I knew it I'd made 3 cards ........

Simple designs, quick to make and keep in stock for emergencies.

Crafty Individuals

I love Crafty Individuals rubber stamps.  This gorgeous steampunk stamp was sent out free with some other stamps I ordered. Mmmmm. Must check out their website ....

Cheery Lynn Designs - Pretty Pretty Bows (Set of 2) B422

This card has used the smaller of the 2 bows - what I love about this die is that you can coordinate with your main design and this helps pull the card together.  The paper with the cogs is from the Time Flies Collection by Craftwork Cards.

Marianne Creatables - Die no. LR0236

Wow.  I've never bought a die like this before but had a bit of a splurge at the Papercraft Fair at the National Motorcycle Museum last weekend. I love the lattice effect.

Colours - Card Challenge

This week the Daring Card Makers challenge is to use yellows and oranges in a seasonal flavour card so here we go ....

Stripes - Card Challenge

I enjoyed making this card - I love bunting so just had to include stripey bunting in this card.  I also love red/black/white colour combination - bold and striking.

Tuesday 28 January 2014

Today I am going to try something new - adding a photo to my blog. Check - done.  Now I want to attach a photo of a card I made but I cannot quite see how to do that so I need to pop off and investigate ......

Just a simple one ... it's the first one I found in my gallery - I'm not patient enough to trawl through for a fancy one !

So, here I am, a fresh new blogger with not much to say at the moment but I'm sure this will grow on me.
